The year has ended and what can we say about it. The Augen Gentouch 78 got released and gained huge media attention but mostly it wasnt praise. Also there are lots of feedback in the comment section of various posts in this blog thats mostly bashing. I think it`s now safe to say that there will be no more updates done on the Gentouch 78 and also no Android 2.2 modified rom released for it.
The competitors have been busy and there are loads of excellent Android tablet devices for a similarly small price available and also the new year promises to be the year that Windows 7 tablet devices will generate a new tablet scene for the Windows guys.
Still we are waiting on the Augens response with the Augen Coffee line that should bring them back into the action if it doesn’t get delayed and if the devices are actually working as they should.

I’m a bit upset that I just purchased the gentouch 78 — due to arrive tomorrow on feb. 2. — now you have had an improved version for the same price for a couple of months, but I haven’t seen it for sale anywhere.
Since your product is actually a hand-held computer, not a phone, will you be considering a device running true linux? (from what I’ve read it sounds like Android is a crippled version of linux)
